Our Optometrists - Lewis Jacobs

Lewis is the owner of Eyecare. He established the practice 21 years ago which has been a landmark in Ilford ever since. Trained at city & east London College Lewis became a contact lens specialist fitting all types of lenses. He has succeeded in fitting many patients that have previously been told they are unable to wear lenses by other practitioners.

Recently Lewis has retrained as an Optometrist at Bradford University after a sabbatical year gaining first class honours.

He is currently training to take up a shared car scheme with Moorefield’s Eye hospital for the welfare of the patients with Glaucoma.

Lewis is an active member of the local optical committee and is going to be involved in arranging this year’s crisis over Christmas.

He is also awaiting assignment for Vision Aid oversees where he will work with some of the very poorest people in the world helping them to see properly for the first time.
